Ionic column
From the mausoleum of Chapman H. Hyams, which houses the famous "Weeping Angel" (or "Angel of Grief") statue. I will post at least one picture of that statue later. It is beautiful and very well-known around New Orleans.

New Orleans cemetery
Some of the older and more traditional crypts in the Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans. It is customary for families to spend a lot of money on this type of honor to their dead.

This is a view of a statue of Andrew Jackson with St. Louis Cathedral in the background. It was taken in Jackson Square, in New Orleans's French Quarter.

Bankrupt!
What?! News of the bankruptcy filing by Hostess rocked the world of anyone who ever packed a lunch to school in the 60s, 70s, or 80s.
I can't imagine a brown bag school lunch without a Twinkie, Ding-Dong, or a Ho-Ho.
Hopefully, they will survive.

Some assembly required
When mom went back to work, she would leave dinner with instructions for us to make. For whatever reason, the task usually fell to the one sibling who always had the best grades. This sibling has been continually harassed because of the one time that crescent rolls were on the menu and he/she (I'm not saying) thought they rolled themselves up while cooking. We had triangular crackers with dinner that night!

Muck Boot Retail Display
I saw this display in a downstate gas station / convenience store. They are high quality and charge a good buck for the product. Maybe Sara would like the pink ones.

2/29/2012
Leap Day 2012 was unseasonably warm. But, as is typical in the Midwest, you can count on it being consistently inconsistent as is evidenced by the weather forecast for the next few days.
